We organized in 1995 in response to certain political changes on the Penobscot Indian Reservation.  The group serves on various committees and Tribal Council in order to facilitate change aimed at Native Women.  Issues include housing, abuse in the workplace, and efforts aimed at retaining our cultural ways.  We organize the annual "Community Day" every August in which the Penobscots celebrate themselves through dance, food, games, and other cultural activities.
