Batterer Intervention Programs The goal of these programs is to insure the
safety of battered women and their children by ending men's violence against
women. Programs may focus on teaching nonviolent ways for men to
communicate and act, or they may use a power analysis and education about

Walsh Our mission is to prevent child abuse and neglect through advocacy,
public awareness and the funding of effective community-based child abuse and

Maine's 10 sexual assault crisis and support centers (also
one in New Hampshire serving people in southern Maine) work to help alleviate
the suffering of survivors of sexual assault and incest, returning them to a
sense of control and empowerment. These centers provide services including

referrals, community education, school based education, and community
