Wiener Co-housing is a village-based and community-oriented housing design
which includes separate dwellings for individuals, as well as common buildings
and areas. The approach originated in Scandinavia, and has caught on in
various parts of the US. Two Echo is currently the only active co-housing
project in Maine to the development state. As of Spring 2001, 18 of 27
available households are constructed and lived in. 70 of 92 acres are held
